Brief

• Design a bespoke reception desk to be located in a multifunctional building.

• Materiality choice to take in consideration sustainability criteria.

• Space for two sitting workers.

• Consideration for ergonomics, anthropometrics, and accessibility rules.

Proposal | The proposed desk is made of locally sourced materials, starting from the skeleton in reclaimed Swedish pine, the substrate panels made with an innovative material that uses recycled juice packaging. The details of the desk are made with: recycled aluminium anodised in a brushed gold finish, and walnut veneer. The unique shape is inspired by one of the main function of the reception desk: Guidance. This word is synonym to navigation from which came the inspiration for the shape of the desk. The choice of the materials are inspired by antique compasses used to find the way.
